8 Things To Do If You’re Celebrating The Holidays Alone

8 Things To Do If You’re Celebrating The Holidays Alone

The holiday season is all about being festive and spending quality time with your loved ones. However, we also not it can also be lonely - especially during the on-going pandemic.

If you're far from your loved ones and spending the holidays alone - here's 8 Things To Do If You’re Celebrating The Holidays Alone:

1. BINGE WATCH NETFLIX ALL DAY
It’s completely okay to do absolutely nothing during the holidays! That’s what it’s all about. Take a break from work and school and RELAX (whatever that looks like). So, if you want to catch-up on all your fave shows - this is the time to do it.

Don’t feel pressured to do anything extravagant if you don’t want to. This is your time to rest and participate in some self-care activities, and that’s most important.

2. TAKE YOURSELF ON A SHOPPING SPREE
Treat yourself, babe. If you need a little retail therapy or have a product that you can’t get off of your mind - this is your sign to go get it!

This is your reminder that gifts don’t have to be received from others. Be okay buying yourself flowers, buying yourself gifts, or buying yourself new workout clothes ;)

You don’t need to depend on anyone else to get you gifts, when you can get it yourself. Trust us, you deserve it.

3. MAKE YOURSELF A BOMB-ASS DINNER
Not going to a fancy dinner this year? Do it by yourself and for yourself! From someone who loves eating out, I also completely love cooking by myself and for myself.

Get the candles lit, have your fave festive music playing, and cook a new fancy recipe at home. You’ll save lots of money and it’ll be rewardingly delicious.

If you don’t feel like cooking this year, then treat yourself with some take-out to your favorite restaurant. There’s nothing better than comfort food during a comforting time.

4. VOLUNTEER AT A FOOD BANK
If you’re looking for a way to give back this year - a perfect way is to volunteer at a food bank. Find your local charity organization and volunteer! You can help with planning dinners, volunteering at a toy drive, or more.

If you’re feeling alone this year, this is a great way to spend time with others. It’s also an awesome way to gain new perspectives and give back this year.

You never know how something small can make a HUGE impact for someone else.

5. ZOOM / FACETIME YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY
We know the last few years have been crazy with Covid-19 messing up our plans! However, just because you may not be spending the holidays with your loved ones in-person, doesn’t mean you can’t spend it with them virtually!

If you’re feeling alone this year, don’t be afraid to reach out to your loved ones when you need to. It’s so important to keep in touch with your loved ones for them and for you!

The holidays are about appreciating your family and friends - and having that time to celebrate with them, even if it may be virtually.

6. ENJOY A LIGHT SHOW/ PARADE
This might be the best thing on the list (for me, anyways). I love a bright and vibrant light show! If you’re feeling down, try going to a parade, light show, or something festive.

Find a local event or drive to a drive-thru light show if you want to stay cozy in the car. We pinky promise it’ll light up your world (see what we did there hehe).

There’s no better way to get in the holiday spirit than celebrating with something festive!

7. WRITE YOUR 2022 GOALS + PLAN IT
Okay, here’s the thing. I know you can start your goals anytime but the first day of a new year is the PERFECT time to start as a great milestone.

If you’re alone this holiday season, this is the perfect time to focus on your goals and what you want to work on for the next year. When you write your goals down and plan how to get there, you’ll be more motivated to try to achieve it.

2022 is YOUR year, babe - go for it.

8. DRESS UP & LOOK CUTE
Even if you have nowhere to go, have a full-on self-care day! Take a hot bath, put on a face mask, put on a cute outfit, do some make-up if you want - whatever makes you feel good!

Whoever said you can only dress-up to feel good and look good if you’re going somewhere, was wrong. You don’t need to go anywhere to dress-up, if you feel confident and happy that’s all that matters.

Dress up and feel your best… FOR YOU!
