May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, but keep this gentle reminder in mind that mental health is not an annual or monthly task, it is an ongoing daily process - and it is not always easy.

From its very definition, mental health involves the emotional, social, and physical aspects of us, and affects how we feel, think, and act. The most important thing to remember is that it is YOUR mental health journey, and not anybody else’s.

The past cannot be changed
Sometimes just breathing is more than enough
You deserve all the love and kindness you give to others
This too shall pass
Taking time for yourself is NOT selfish
It’s okay to say “No”
Your best is more than enough
Slow growth is still growth
You are not defined by the trauma you dealt with
Your feelings are valid
Emotions are just feelings and are not who you are
You are more than an illness
Setbacks do not mean you have failed
You are allowed to break old traditions that are no longer serving you
The way you speak to yourself matters
You matter, even on days you don’t feel like it
Not all thoughts are true
A bad day doesn’t equal a bad life
It’s okay to cry if you need to
Things are going to get better
You didn’t come this far just to come this far
Don’t forget to treat you body and mind with kindness
You deserve to get help and seek support
You are not alone
The world needs you
